  • Day 1

    ANTANANARIVO

    Salama!(Hello) Welcome to Madagascar. Arrival at 16h35, we will pick you up at Ivato’s airport then transfer to your hotel. You’ll have the opportunity to have an overview of the “city of thousands” (Antananarivo) along the road which is decorated by vast plains with rice fields, thousands of houses and overlooked by the big Queen Palace at the top of the hills.

    Day 2

    ANTANANARIVO - ANTSIRABE

    (170 Kms - 03 hours of drive)

    After breakfast, you’ll take the road to Antsirabe. The landscape will alternate terraced rice fields with mountains. Have the opportunity to discover the local handmade crafting such as raphia palm, banana barks and grass at Iharanandriana hills. Upon your arrival to Antsirabe, leave the city center for a small excursion to the lakes. The first lake is Andraikiba Lake. During this stop, you’ll have a walk with a local guide who will tell you about the myths and history surrounding this place. You can also visit the small market around there. Then continue to Tritriva Lake. The lake itself it’s a crater, where you’ll have a tour to see the lake from different perspectives and a local guide will tell you the story about the sad legend of the two lovers who came there to commit suicide. After the visit, drive back to your hotel.

  • Day 3

    ANTSIRABE - RANOMAFANA

    (230Kms - 05 Hours of drive)

    Today it’s onto Ranomafana. You can make a stop to enjoy the beautiful view over the Manandona valley. The next stop will be at Ambositra which is about a 2 hour drive from Antsirabe, this is the main city of the Zafimaniry Wood Crafting arts which is famous by the quality of marquetry and woodcarving in Madagascar. You can observe wood carving activities and visit the souvenir shops. After this stop, you’ll continue to your destination. As you’ll get closer to your destination, you’ll quickly notice the change of scenery as there would be abundance of luscious greens from terraced rice fields to the rainforest. Dinner and night at the hotel.

    Day 4

    RANOMAFANA NATIONAL PARK

    (visit 03 hours of walking)

    Start the day with a hike in the rainforest of Ranomafana, passing over a little bridge, discover the lemurs such as the Golden Bamboo Lemurs, Greater Bamboo Lemurs and Sifaka. You won’t miss other fauna such as reptiles and wide variety of birds, and flora like orchids and medicinal plants. You will pass by the lookout in the middle of the park from where you can have a breathtaking view over the treetops. Way back to your hotel when the visit is finished.

  • Day 5

    RANOMAFANA - RANOHIRA

    (350kms - 07 hours)

    In the morning, leave Ranomafana and its rainforest then drive back to the terraced rice field and mountainous landscape. You’ll pass Fianarantsoa, capital of the Betsileo ethnic group and continue on the National Road 7 for an hour. Vineyards take the most of the landscape before reaching Ambalavao where you’ll have a visit to the reserve community of Anjà and its impressive cliffs. Meet the Cattas Lemurs, which with the lemurs, are the local inhabitants of the reserve. Learn about native and medicinal plants, see the traditional tombs and then end the visit with a breathtaking view inside the reserve. After the visit, continue to Ranohira. You will arrive to Ranohira at the end of the day.

    Day 6

    ISALO NATIONAL PARKS

    (Visit 4 Hours)

    Ranohira is famous by the uniform rock formation of the Isalo National Park. After breakfast, visit the park. From canyons, natural sculpted buttes, vast savannah to tapia forest, you’ll be surprised by the landscape’s diversity in such an arid place. Lemurs such as the red-fronted brown lemur and the catta lemur can be seen there, as well as some birds and reptiles species. The flora is generally composed by dry vegetation such as the pachypodium which looks like a small baobab, and other greasy plants. The natural swimming pool may delight you before going back to the hotel.

  • Day 7

    RANOHIRA - TOLIARA - ANKASY - ANDRAVONA

    (260Kms - 6 Hours of drive -1 Hour of Sea Voyage)

    Departure from Ranohira at 7.00 AM. When closed to Tulear, along the road, you will see some baobabs and also Mahafaly and Antandroy tombs, decorated with the Aloalo, a wood carving representing the buried person’s life. Arrival to Tulear for an early lunch. Your 4WD is waiting for you to let you go through a sandy track. Arrival in Ankasy that gives you a teaser of the panorama that you will discover along . Boarding on a motor boat and head toward Andravona in about one hour of boat trip. Laying back on charming tent and sunset with apero in this idyllic place.

    DAY 8

    IMMERSION AT THE MIKEA FOREST

    Visit of the traditional fishermen Vezo village is on the program, then discover the fauna and flora in the heart of the Mikea forest and immersion in the world of this mythical people. We guarantee you a memorable day out of the ordinary.
    Picnic lunch personalized on this picturesque site.

    Way back to the Mikea Lodge for dinner and overnight.

    Today you’ll profit from simple and tasty moments of relaxation on the beach to various aquatic and land activities offered by the hotel, take advantage of these 2 days to relax in the heart of this enchanting nature.

    ANDRAVONA - BAIE DES ASSASSINS

    Start of the catamaran cruise after breakfast, heading to the Bay of Assassins. Lunch on board and then departure for a breathtaking visit in the Baobab forest.

    Dinner and night at Chez Pierrot Guesthouse, you can as well sleep on the Catamaran.

  • Day 12

    BAIE DES ASSASSINS - MOROMBE

    Breakfast then last day of cruise towards Morombe, further north of the island. Several activities will be available depending on the weather conditions (diving, fishing, snorkeling, whale safari and more!) and lunch on board. Anchorage on Morombe and arrival at the hotel.

    Day 13

    MOROMBE - TULEAR

    If you wake up early, admire the sunrise with the regatta Vezo canoes that go fishing, a show that reflects the daily life of this population that lives mainly from fishing. We will take the all-terrain vehicle across a sandy track before returning to the main road. Lunch break in the middle of a Baobab forest to admire these species with extraordinary shapes and sizes. Arrival to Tulear in the afternoon.
